Morgan Bacall has been a constant source of information on the new directions the fashion industry is taking.
Morgan Bacall latest report shows an increase of old trends coming back to visit most of the world designers. Everything in fashion responds to a large number of dynamics. Biochemical reactions to color shape and form is one of them.
Through hundreds of years fashion has been an immediate response to the way our bodies react to visual and tactile stimulation. This rule is changing constantly with the new techniques applied to our manufacturing industry.
So, to put it in a simple way; we are revisiting fashion trends on a daily basis. These trends are changing or adjusting to the new material being available by the application of new technologies applied to the manufacturing of new fashion materials for the apparel industry.
One perfect example is the explosion of the Vintage trend. All vintage accessories, dresses, jewelry are becoming a hard to find treasure. Women in general respond to these trends the same way women responded many years ago. It is a biochemical reaction to these trends.
We can safely say that fashion has it’s science behind it. That is why women love fashion without understanding the real reason behind it. We can also say that fashion falls into cycles and that is the main reason for all fashion trends to come back to the present time.
When these old fashion trends come back; they are reborn but absorbing the new techniques in the manufacturing of new materials. Most old fashion trends appear to be new and different, the reality they are the same fashion trends with a new facelift.
Vintage will always have a great attraction toward current women. They complement each other. They need each other.
Morgan Bacall is aware of this strong relationship between women and Vintage, that is the main reason we put so much effort to rescue as many vintage treasures as possible.

Morgan Bacall, New Trends and Vintage.
Morgan Bacall conducted a study to determine the dynamics involved in the transition from a established trend to a new one. We selected the Vintage field.
No new trend will be able to succeed entering the doors of fashion without a great deal of social acceptance.
What factors open the fashion doors to a new trend? We can say “social status” . Not too long ago vintage was considered to belong to the low income level of our society. That perception changed with the help of some celebrities and some financially secure member of our society. These days vintage is consider to be a status of being knowledgeable in the field of fashion. A person who chooses to wear vintage is considered to be confident and with a great deal of fashion independency.
Vintage shows appreciation for fashion movements throughout the years. It involves a great deal of understanding past fashion movements.
We can say vintage has become the label of sophistication every individual would like to carry.
Let’s not forget Vintage already passed the test of fashion acceptance and success. Vintage comes back with strong fashion accomplishments behind it.
So can safely say Vintage has become a way to enhance the social status of today’s fashion followers.
Desperate Bridesmaid
Question:
Dear Pascal
I’m a pale blonde and look horrific in pale blush…my problem is that soon I’ll be a Bridesmaid, being forced to wear a not-so-flattering blush dress….one of the ushers at the wedding is a hot guy that I wouldn’t mind hooking up with! How do I make him notice me in my “wallflower style” Bridesmaid dress?
Desperate – L.A., Ca.
Response:
Come on dear – I hate the name “Desperate”…..there are always ways my dear….Lots of make up, a wild wig, etc. However, if you want to keep the friendship of the bride (who probably chose those ugly dresses so she could look better), just wear the dumb dress for the ceremony, then rush to your car, and slip into the sexiest, most glamorous dress you can get….I would recommend one of our beaded numbers in Vintage, or the skin-tight passamanterie dress….A sexy necklace and/or glamorous cuffs from our Accessories section could go a long way too.
XOXO – Pascal
Conservative Laura
Question:
Dear Pascal
I’m a 24-year old recent graduate from a prestigious Ivy League school. I’m not unattractive, dress well, and have a good – but not glamorous – job in the Midwest. What’s my problem – you might ask????? Well, my dating life is non-existent!!!!!!!! Not sure if men stay away from me because I dress “too conservative” and they are afraid I’m a stuck-up, frigid business woman, or what is wrong with me!!!!!! After all, I HAVE TO DRESS CONSERVATIVE – I am a CPA!!!! My clients expect that of me! Pascal, you are a “dawg-about- town”….please tell me what I have to do to improve my love life…..

I have the feeling you are selling yourself short….you are probably a lovely young woman that only needs to unleash her inner “wild woman” outside of the confines of your grey cubicle! Even if you are wearing a grey business suit and a white tie-front blouse, there are little “things” you can do to make yourself more “approachable”….My Maman, Coco Mignon, during her “golden years” had the knack to appear dainty, demure and sexy all at the same time…..Your grey skirt perhaps could be a tad TIGHTER? Your boring white tie front blouse could have a tiny little button UNBUTTONED? Could some pearls be peeking out of your blouse? When you leave the office, just before going for drinks with your friends, how about exchanging your black “pumps” for some sky-high red platforms? I think you get my drift dear….Check out our Vintage Section for some businesslike but very cool jackets, as well as our Accessories section for some sexy earrings to slip on along with your red stilettos…..good luck Cherie, and let me know how it goes in beautiful

Mary from Chicago
Question:
Dear Pascal, I am getting married this coming Summer. I am going to wear a traditional white wedding dress. I would love to accent the dress with a color that will match the dresses my bride’s mates are going to wear. What are the popular colors for this Summer?
Thank you for your suggestions regarding this.
Sincerely,
Mary from Chicago

Ma cherie Mary
Hope your wedding day is not too windy in Chicago! And hope your honeymoon is out-of this world dear! As far as “au courant” colors for the season, BRIGHTS, BRIGHTS, AND MORE BRIGHTS are what is coming our way darling. So, with that in mind, please do not settle for BORING lavenders, or soft pinks for your bridesmaids! Go for a color with real punch that also flatters the coloring of your bridesmaids – DO NOT FEAR COLOR MY DARLING, COLOR IS YOUR FRIEND!!!! You could also try a different but complementary color for each girl, like saffron for one, canary yellow for another, watermelon pink for another. If that is TOO MUCH for you or you fear the Midwest is not ready for that, choose just one gorgeous, strong color that suits them all…. Best of luck in your special day my dear, I know you will be a true princess….
